Two from Kaplan awarded Zaunbrecher Memorial Scholarship Awards

The Vermilion Parish Farm Bureau Federation is pleased to announce that two Dwayne A. Zaunbrecher Memorial Scholarship Awards were presented at Kaplan High School.
Emma Nicole Stelly and Morgan Meaux were recipients of 4-year scholarships worth $1,000 per year for 4 years.
Emma Nicole Stelly was also the recipient of the Linda and Wayne Zaunbrecher Louisiana Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship worth $8,000 as a 4-year award.
Philip and Chelsie Domingues, Bryan Simon, Jamie Lee, and Gwen Broussard, representing Farm Bureau, presented the scholarships to Stelly and Meaux.

Upon Recommendation of Vermilion Parish School Board, Sheriff Michael A. Couvillon announces Scholarship Recipient Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program

Sheriff Michael A. Couvillon is happy to announce that Nathan Paul “Nate” Touchet of Vermilion Parish has been named the recipient of an academic scholarship from the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program for the 2022-2023 school year.
He resides in Erath and plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and pursue nursing as a field of study.
He later intends to pursue an advanced degree to either become a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Anesthetist.
His parents are Michael James and Theresa Marie Comeaux Touchet of Erath, Louisiana.

Abbeville High Educator PreEducation Students Earn Micro-Credential in Classroom Culture

ALL ELEVEN Abbeville High School students in the PreEducation Pathway recently earned their micro-credential in Classroom Culture through the Educators Rising program! Micro-credentials are performance-based assessments in which rising educators can showcase their growing skills. The Micro-credential in Classroom Culture is the first in a series of “Beginning to Teach” credentials offered through the Educators Rising curriculum for students who are considering careers in education. Each micro-credential submission requires an estimated 5-15 hours of work.

Hebert wins Louisiana Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year Award

Vermilion Parish Farm Bureau Federation is pleased to announce that Hannah Hebert was selected as the 2023 Louisiana Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year.
Hebert is a 6th grade teacher at Rene Rost Middle School in Kaplan.
