2021 Erath High Homecoming Court

The Erath High court presentation will take place on Friday at 6:15 p.m. at Robert J. Segura Stadium. The queen will be announced at the game. The 2021 Erath High Homecoming Court members are: Emily Hargrave, Kierstan Price, Alani Richard, Emma Mayard, Isabella Hollier, Meredith Sonnier, Lani Frederick, Chloe Lege, Claire Watson, and Thaovy Tran.

2021 North Vermilion Homecoming Court

The following students were selected by the student body to represent North Vermilion High School as members of the homecoming courts. Court presentations and crowning will take place on Wednesday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m. in Patriot Stadium. The annual homecoming parade will be Thursday, October 14 beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Patriots will take on the Rayne Wolves on Friday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m.

Joshua Listi

Vermilion Catholic's Joshua Listi receives national honor

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) announced VC graduate Joshua Listi from Abbeville, has been selected to become a member of the esteemed organization. The Society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community commitment.
The announcement was made by NSHSS Co-founder and President James W. Lewis.

The University of Mississippi recently announced students named to the Spring 2021 Honor Roll lists, including Chancellor’s Honor Roll. Catherine Ann Romaine, pictured, was among students named.

Abbeville’s Romaine maintains 4.0 at the University of Mississippi

Catherine Ann Romaine, of Abbeville, LA, was recently named to the University of Mississippi’s Spring 2021 Honor Roll lists.
Romaine was named to the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00.
“Our students on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll are among the best and brightest at the University of Mississippi,” said Chancellor Glenn Boyce. “I commend them for their hard work and dedication resulting in their incredible academic achievements and this well-deserved honor.”

D.A.R.E graduation at Seventh Ward Elementary

Seventh Ward Elementary fifth graders completed their D.A.R.E. graduation on Thursday. D.A.R.E. is a program that teaches students to respect others and lead lives free from substance abuse, violence, and other dangerous behaviors. Special thanks goes to D.A.R.E. Officer, Deputy Marcus Hebert for teaching our students for the second half of this 20-21 school year. Also, we would like to thank Detective James Gleason and his canine partner ‘Sarr’, PIO Eddie Langlinais, and Lieutenant Kevin Hebert for the demonstration of working dogs for law enforcement.
