Angie Detraz named Seventh Ward Elementary Teacher of the Year

Seventh Ward Elementary Principal Marlene Primeaux presented Ms. Angie Detraz with flowers on Friday. Ms. Angie was chosen as Teacher of the Year by her faculty and staff for 2020. She goes above and beyond her teaching job description to teach and help the students and faculty in this school. She is very dedicated to the education of our children and tries to help each individual reach their potential.

Leaders greeted staff members and students on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 after a number of school delays due to the pandemic and hurricanes. Pictured at Dozier Elementary on the first day of school are Dozier Elementary Assistant Principal DeEtte Bigot, Vermilion Parish Superintendent Tommy Byler, Vermilion Parish Director of School Leadership Kimberly Etie, and Dozier Elementary Principal Andrea Ford.

Vermilion Catholic’s Eagleline had a very successful camp this weekend! UDA Camp: VCHS Eagleline Dance Team acquired -Superior Team Trophy -Qualification for Nationals -25 Yellow Superior Ribbons -27 Blue Superior Ribbons -Team Spirit Stick -2 “Pin it Forward” Awards -6 All American Awards: 1. 8th graders recently visited Delcambre, La today. They visited the Delcambre Port and Gulf Crown Seafood to learn about the process of shrimp and the impact of the shrimping industry on Louisiana. After, they enjoyed boiled shrimp for lunch.
