DELCAMBRE — Once upon a time, in a land far, far away there was a magical kingdom where mythical creatures stay.
On Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at the Hilton Double Tree Hotel in Lafayette, Delcambre’s Krewe de Mystical Waters held its 23rd annual bal masque, Boogie Wonderland, taking their guests into a world of musical fantasy. Reigning over the 2024 festivities were Krewe de Mystical Waters’ 20th King and Queen, Robbie Barras and his wife, JoEllen.

Abbeville is getting eggggcited for next weekend, Nov. 4-5, when members of the Confrerie d’ Abbeville will gather up over 5,000 eggs to cook up their Giant Omelette on Sunday afternoon to give away free to everyone in attendance.

Erath High School Homecoming Crown Bearer and Flower Girl

Each year Dozier Elementary randomly chooses one boy and one girl from the first-grade class to represent DES as the Erath High Homecoming Crown Bearer and Flower Girl. Recently, a drawing took place with the entire first-grade.
Dozier Elementary is proud to announce the 2023 Erath High Homecoming Crown Bearer and Flower Girl are Evan Thibodeaux and Oakleigh Falgout! These students will represent Dozier Elementary at the EHS Homecoming game on Friday, September 29, 2023!
Oakleigh is the daughter of Dillon and Jindi Falgout and Evan is the son of Micah and Amy Thibodeaux.

Lemonade stand raises funds for Kaplan Food Bank

Students recently organized a lemonade stand, with the goal of raising funds for the Kaplan Food Bank.
Harvey LeBeouf III, a Kaplan High Beta Club Student, Ainsley Crader, a North Vermilion Middle Beta Student, and Amelia Rung, a third-grader at Indian Bayou Elementary, came up with the idea of creating a Lemonade Stand.
The sale of lemonade proceeds to benefit The Kaplan Food Bank. The LeBeouf family presented the check of $175.00 to KFB members and volunteers.
