KAPLAN - When the season started, Kaplan sophomore McCaylon Thibeaux was pencilled in as the third string tailback. Six games into the season, Thibeaux is now the starting tailback after two upper classmen went down with with injuries over the last two weeks.

Erath has now won three straight games.

FRANKLIN - The Erath Bobcats now find themselves at 3-0 in the district standings after beating Franklin 47-34 on Friday on the road. Erath jumped out to a 34-12 lead at halftime and then hung on to win.

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Patrol Division responded to a complaint in reference to a theft that occurred at 14239 St. Elmo Road in Delcambre.
The complainant advised that a black 16’ utility trailer with a front drop gate and a rear drop gate was stolen along with three zero-turn lawn mowers. The lawn mowers were a 60” Gravely, 66” Gravely and a 32” Snapper Pro.

On first day of sugar cane hauling, car hits trailer

The front of this White Continental was destroyed when it hit the back of a sugar cane truck on La. 167 on Thursday. The driver, Christopher Meaux, 22, was flown to a hospital.

On the first day of hauling sugarcane to the mills in Iberia Parish, there was a traffic accident in Vermilion Parish that involved a sugar cane truck.

The crash occurred on Park Avenue in Abbeville.

An Abbeville police officer and another driver were involved in a crash on Park Avenue near Vermilion Catholic and Mount Carmel Wednesday afternoon.
