That Vermilion Parish is an ‘A’ school district, selecting names for Principal of the Year allowed plenty of options, even if it created tough choices. In the end, the selection committee landed on three worthy names.

Adlar Stelly is not averse to hard work. As a farmer it’s how Stelly, as he puts it, “survives.” For anyone who puts in a hard day, whether he or she is looking for it, a little recognition is a good feeling.

The seniors are Payton Gaspard (90), Daniel Lotief (3), Ridge Herpin (30), Jerrick Romero (60), Julius Johnson (11), Hunter Vincent (72), Adam Gaspard (32), Victor Stelly (66), Gage Marceaux (84) and Victor Persilver (69). In the last two years, they posted a 22-5 record.

KAPLAN - While there were a lot of tears flowing after the Kaplan Pirates lost to Amite, 20-12, in the Class 3A semifinals, there were a few smiles to be found. In the center of the field after the game, head coach Stephen Lotief told his team how proud he was of their accomplishments.
